These gorgeous ballerina tulips and dragonflies remind me of the spring that is to come.

The word Tulip is thought to be a corruption of the Turkish word 'tulbend' for turban. The Tulip was introduced by a famous Austrian biologist Carolus Clusius. Tulips plants belong to the genus Tulipa, in the lily family, Liliaceae. Tulips bloom on bulbous plants, with large, showy flowers with six petals. There are around 100 species of Tulips, which actually came from the Central Asia where they grew wild. Turkish growers first cultivated tulips as early as 1,000 AD.

Pixies are said to be uncommonly beautiful, though there are some called pixies who have distorted and strange appearances. Some pixies are said to have some goat-like features. Others are said to be coltish in character. The humble pixie is a very misunderstood creature. Often confused with fairies, sprites and other creatures of the fae, they are in fact quite different. Beyond the higher of the pixie kind, most pixies can be described as angular, sometime indiscernible from male or female. Doors to the fae are often called sídhe which means door. These doors are often hidden and very decorative when you find them. Good luck finding these little doors, they are often seen in circles around a mound of flowers. Pixies are often mischievious, so be cautious for they are incorrigable tricksters.

As I delve a little into the darker side of romanticism. This pieces gives off the darker side of the Victorian Era. Black was a common color. They loved roses and beads of all sorts. So I combined a little silver with black chain and blood red roses enhanced with black swarovski beads to create this elegant piece.

 Cupcake Rose Ring

 This adorable ring is part of my "edible delights" collection.

 Of course, the edible delights are the favorite foods we dream about,cakes, candy, fudge... or at least I do. I have a bake shop near my home that makes the most outrageously delicious, simply delectable cupcakes that look like roses.  

The rose is hand made from a beautiful petal pink polymer clay. The ring is adjustable so anyone can wear this. The rose is wrapped with gun metal. This tops off the illusion of a cupcake.

This is a one of a kind. The artistic ablilities, it takes to create these beauties I personally like to make each rose unique in it's design, so each rose may vary slightly to the next.
