Okay, so I am going to toot my own horn a little. Back in September of 2010 I entered the Fire Mountain Gems contest for Wirework, Beadwork, Metal or Clay. After the long awaited announcement. I learned that I am an official finalist and will be published in many of the books that we all read. Although, I did not win any gift certificates for my work, I am proud to say that I am very fortunate to be recognized for my talents and if I am so bold as to say I am officially patting myself on my back for a job well done.

These are my favorite pair of earrings that I have made so far. A little humor went into making these. When I found these beads the first thing that came to mind is that they were the color of whiskey. And when I added the antique bronze wire to them it made me think of a very popular drink in the south Whiskey and Rye.

Iridescent greens, amber, yellow are the many colors you might find on a lazy river day and you tube down the gentle sways of the flow of water. These tranquil dangle earrings are a perfect summer collection of color. The shells are from the west michigan area and are a wonderful treasure to behold from the Great Lakes State.

WOW! What A Week!!!
Even though I have been exceedingly busy, overwhelmed and hit with all the end of the year school activities, I did manage to get these lovelies listed. More is on the way...But since you are here take a peek at some new designs.

The Wolf Moon is a full moon that occurs in January. Its name comes from hungry wolf packs that would howl outside the villages of Native Americans. This full moon is also known as the Old Moon or the Moon After Yule.
Full Moon names date back to Native Americans of what is now the northern and eastern United States. The Native American tribes kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring full moon. Their names were applied to the entire month in which each occurred. There was some variation in the moon names, but in general, the same ones were current throughout the Algonquian tribes from New England to Lake Superior.

In the fictional world of the Forgotten Realms, Silverymoon is the prime signatory state of the Confederation of the Silver Marches. It has been ruled for decades by High Lady Alustriel Silverhand, a powerful wizard and one of the Seven Sisters, some of the most powerful individuals on Faerûn and also Chosen of Mystra, the goddess of magic.
Silverymoon is often dubbed "the Gem of the North", for it resembles and emulates the lost elven city of Myth Drannor in many respects. It is one of the few civilized places in the middle of the rough and untamed wilderness that is the North of Faerûn. It has a rich cultural life and is reknowned as a meeting place for all races that are morally inclined towards good. Even the occasional dark elf with good intentions (most notably the famous ranger Drizzt Do'Urden) can eventually find hospitality in the city of Silverymoon.
Silverymoon is also famous for its pervading tradition of magic, and is home to many notable wizards, sorcerers and other mages. One of its permanent structures, the Moonbridge, was created by magic.
